What’s In-Production And Coming Soon From Redfield Arts Audio

From audio books to AudioNovellas to audio drama, here are a few of the exciting projects that are in the studio this winter.

The first super-spectacular Audio Novella to go into production this year is THE ADVENTURES OF HARRY AND BESS HOUDINI: PART ONE, THE MAGICIAN AMONG THE SPIRITS.

The year is 1923 and Harry Houdini, grieving from the death of his beloved mother, declares war on fraudulent mediums, psychics and spiritualists. With his wife Bess by his side, the dynamic duo set out to take down these cheats that prey on heart-broken souls, and uncover a syndicate of criminals and confidence men run by one of the most notorious spiritualists in New York City!

This 72 minute audio drama-adventure tale features a full cast, headed by Mark Redfield (as Harry Houdini) and Mackenzie Menter (as Bess Houdini), with the great voice talents of Jennifer Rouse (as Esmeralda), J. R. Lyston, Lois Bailey DeVeas, Eric Supensky, B. Thomas Rinaldi and others.

The audio novella is written and directed by Mark Redfield. Original Music and Sound Design is by Jennifer Rouse. Look for it on Audible and on Redfield Arts Audio CD this summer.

This winter, our adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe’s tale of hypnotism and putrefaction of dead bodies, VALDEMAR hits Audible and other platforms!

Based on the 1845 short story “The Facts in the Case of M. Valdemar” by Poe, VALDEMAR is told from the point-of-view of Elmira (Jennifer Rouse), the wife of Mr. Ernest Valdemar (J.R. Lyston), the subject to be hypnotized just at the point of death by mesmerist Harlan Hurlock (Mark Redfield).

Look for our production of the audio play VALDEMAR (to be paired with a reading of Poe’s “The Facts in the Case of M. Valdemar”) on Audible this winter.

Speaking of Poe, our audio book THE STORY OF EDGAR ALLAN POE by Sherwin Cody, narrated by Mark Redfield, also hits Audible this winter. A perfect primer for those who are new to Poe’s life and work, this audio book has been adapted and edited by Redfield. It includes poems written by Poe that were not included in the original text’s 1899 edition.

We recommend THE STORY OF EDGAR ALLAN POE for young or old; for all who are new to the poet’s life and works.

We are currently recording and editing the new audio book edition of Mark Hewitt’s true-crime trilogy on the infamous Zodiac serial killer. The second book in the series, PROFILED, is again narrated by Mark Redfield and edited by Jennifer Rouse.
