a new play from Mark Redfield

This new black comedy from Mark Redfield is the tale of a little publisher, Otto Vinkle, and his wife, Maria, and how they navigate the survival of their little publishing company during the rise of the Nazis in Germany in the 1930s. It's about how some embrace tyranny, and some resist.

About the playwright: Mark Redfield first performed at the Theatre Project in 1986, soon after its renovation and re-opening, with his movement theater comedy MY SAD FACE (Industrial Strength Theater Company). He has worked at the Theater Project in many capacities over the years. His company New Century Theater was in residence at 45 West Preston for a spell. Redfield is a filmmaker, author and artist.

ABOUT THE PLAY

RABID DREAMS OF THE MASTER RACE by Mark Redfield 

A highly theatrical serio-comic tale of a publisher, Otto Vinkle, and his little publishing company, The House of Crump-Vinkle, navigating the rise of the Nazis in Germany in the 1930s. How some people can willingly accept tyranny, and how some can fight it. 

The play will have several staged readings and lab/workshop productions in 2018 as it heads toward full production in 2019!
